In this world we all appreciate an impressive performance, whether it’s a bullet train, a camera capable of taking 3d pictures or a particularly stirring play.  We like to see what something is capable of, be it machine or fellow human.

But we don’t all have the cash to spend on heading to Tokyo for a quick flit over to Fukushima. Of course it would be nice to be able to take futuristic pictures, but the costly apparatus means that we’ll probably be heading off to see whether the local Am Dram’s rendition of Macbeth is as good as Postlethwaite’s interpretation of the Bard’s finest.

When you’re heading off to wince at a comedic interpretation of Macduff, do it in a used Volkswagen.  You’ll forget all your woes as you’re cradled by an unsurpassable performer.
